Given the UK's economic position as outlined in the latest OBR Report, I often wonder why they do not copy Australia with revenue/debt reduction policies such as 1. Means test the OAP - 30% like me do not get it 2. Charge a co-payment for GP visits. 3. Encourage tertiary students to study in their home city and live at home. Would also free up some housing. But probably these are probably too long standing "sacred cows" to take action on (until the IMF intervenes)
