I am overjoyed to write this as I board my penultimate flight of what might be around 100 flights in the last eight weeks, covering the Australian election campaign for The Nightly.
This means that, happily, I will be resuming normal programming here. Thank you so much for your patience as I took a slight break to focus on the campaign trail.
I spent my last night in Sydney at the ABC’s Ultimo studios making my debut on the Q+A hosted by Patricia Karvelas.
It was a somewhat blockbuster episode as the dumped Cabinet Minister Ed Husic made his second only appearance since laying into his colleague Richard Marles on live television and calling him a ‘factional assassin.'
Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes was also a vocal critic of her own party as it prepared to elect its first woman leader after the party’s routing at the ballot box on May 3.
You can watch the program below.
Nice job last night Latika. Many moons since we both worked at ABC. Is the UK home for the foreseeable future or could you ever see yourself returning to Australia?
